A Kinetic Recovery Rope is an excellent recovery gear for vehicles stuck in thick mud, sand, snow, or silt. Kinetic Energy Recovery Ropes are far safer and more successful than tow ropes or chains because they can stretch under strain, utilizing their own kinetic energy to help recover and release a stuck vehicle.
The 7/8″ x 30′ Kinetic Recovery Rope from AEV has a minimum breaking strength (MBS) of 29,000 pounds. It is composed of solid quality, double-braided nylon with a reinforced loop at either end for enhanced abrasion resistance.
Please Note: The Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) is the force required to break or fail a recovery device. The Working Load Limit (WLL) is the maximum force that a recovery device is designed to safely support when applied in-line and across the device’s centerline. The WLL is determined by multiplying the Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) by a safety factor of around 4-to-1. The MBS of the AEV Snatch Block, for example, is 52,000 LBS. Hence the WLL is 13,000 LBS when divided by a 4-to-1 safety factor.
